One Shot Rec!

Today's one-shot, Hush Little Baby, isn't all smut, although there are some lemons included. Actually, it's a slightly bizarre, but absolutely beautiful story written by lifelesslyndsey.

With just under 8K, lifelesslyndsey manages to capture four essential moments in the lives of her main characters, Bella and Peter.

It all starts after Edward has left her in the woods. Bella takes a downwards spiral, one that will stay with her always and even renders her mute from the overwhelming emotions she is submitted to.
Months of silence are only interrupted by her chaotic mind and her nightly screams.
When she encounters Laurent, life takes an unsuspected turn. Running from the wolves and the vampire threatening to kill her, she finds herself on the porch of the Cullen home.

In the meantime, Peter is going through some emotional turmoil himself. His mate has left him and he's still dealing with the aftermath off that. He has felt the Sire's Call, which brought him to the Cullen home in search of his brother and sire Jasper. When he finds a pale, fragil human lying on the porch, he has every intention of killing her, but somehow he stops.

Peter's baby is nothing like the vampires he has encountered before. She remains silent, although they form their own way of communicating. She is also very powerful. Still waters run deep they say and it's true. For when you hear them, you will be sure to know it.

I hope you'll enjoy reading Hush Little Baby by lifelesslyndsey as much as I did. She has a remarkable talent and I've never known anyone who can write the chaos of the human - or vampire - mind so perfectly.
